How we see children

Young children learn best when they are happy, relaxed, and having fun. At Kids Connection, teachers support nurturing and learning through care, patience, and kindness. Each child's curiosity and creativity are developed in a safe environment that encourages a lifelong love of learning.

What a day looks like

Throughout the day, children play in small groups, take turns with materials, and learn through hands-on activities. There are times for meals, rest, and outdoor play, depending on the child's age. Teachers help children practice skills like sharing, cleaning up, and following directions. The schedule is flexible but consistent, allowing children to feel secure and engaged.

As the day ends, children are reminded of the upcoming pickup time. Teachers help them clean up, put on their coats, and prepare for leaving. Parents hear about what their child did and how they felt during the day. The teachers offer updates on the child's progress and answer any questions the parent may have.

How we work with families

At pickup, teachers share observations about the child's day, such as what they played with or what they learned. Parents can ask questions about the child's behavior, feelings, or progress. Teachers are available to talk and provide updates on how the child is adjusting to the center.

In the first weeks, teachers work closely with the family to help the child feel comfortable. They may spend extra time with the child during arrival and departure. Teachers also provide guidance on how to support the child at home and help the family adjust to the new routine.

Good questions to ask first

What are the hours?

Monday – Friday 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM.

What ages do you take?

Children from infants through 12 years old.

Which school district does school-age care serve?

Southeast Delco School District.

Can we visit before deciding?

Yes. A tour is how most families decide, and children are welcome to come along.

What should my child bring on the first day?

Families usually bring a change of clothes, a comfort item like a favorite toy or blanket, and items that are clearly labeled with the child's name. It's also helpful to bring a small bag with any personal items the child may need during the day.

Do you offer part-time or flexible schedules?

Schedules vary depending on the child's age and the availability of spots. Families should ask the center directly for details about what is available for their child's age group.

What if there is no place right now?

Families can ask the center to be notified when a spot becomes available for their child's age. The center will provide updates as needed, but specific dates or promises cannot be made.
